KINO! Chats is a series of interviews with German filmmakers and talent created by KINO! Germany Now, the digital media brand of German Films in the USA.
In this interview, we catch up with the luminous German actress Nina Hoss, known in the US for her many films in collaboration with Christian Petzold and her three seasons on the hit Showtime series HOMELAND.
Nina Hoss began acting at a young age, making her stage debut at age 14. She has since starred in dozens of films—both in Germany and around the world—most notably in close collaboration with Christian Petzold, including BARBARA, PHOENIX, YELLA, WOLFSBURG, and JERICHOW—for which she has won a slew of Best Actress awards.
Nina’s international roles include several films (including A MOST WANTED MAN and the upcoming VIOLENCE OF ACTION) and three seasons of the Showtime series HOMELAND here in the US.
Her recent films include THE AUDITION, directed by Ina Weisse and available on Virtual Cinema platforms in the US; PELICAN BLOOD, directed by Katrin Gebbe; and MY LITTLE SISTER, directed by Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond. She can also be seen in the upcoming series SHADOWPLAY, co-starring Taylor Kitsch and Michael C. Hall.
